These vehicles are commonly used by railroads, utility companies, and contractors for track inspection, maintenance, and repair.

  • How often should a Hi Rail vehicle be inspected?

    Hi Rail vehicles should be inspected at least annually, or more frequently depending on usage, company policy, or regulatory requirements. Pre-job or pre-shift inspections are also recommended for active rail operations.

  • Are your inspections compliant with FRA or DOT regulations?

    Yes. Our inspections are conducted in accordance with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. We ensure all safety-critical systems meet or exceed regulatory standards.

  • What happens if my Hi Rail vehicle fails inspection?

    If your vehicle does not pass inspection, we’ll provide a detailed report of the issues found, along with recommended repairs. In many cases, minor adjustments can be made on-site. For more extensive repairs, we can schedule a service appointment or refer you to a qualified repair facility.

  • Can I schedule recurring inspections for my fleet?

    Absolutely. We offer customized maintenance and inspection plans for fleets of any size. This ensures your Hi Rail vehicles remain in peak condition and are always compliant.

  • What documentation will I receive?

    You’ll receive a complete inspection report, which includes:

    • Pass/fail status of each item
    • Photos of any deficiencies
    • Notes and recommendations from the technician
    • Date and technician signature
    • Compliance documentation for audits
  • Do you service all makes and models of Hi Rail gear?

    Yes. Our technicians are trained to inspect and work on all major makes and models of Hi Rail gear, including systems by Harsco, DMF, Rafna, and others.

  • What railroad companies do you offer service for?

    Our technicians can provide service on vehicles owned and operated by CSX, Danella, Norfolk Southern, Amtrak, Canadian Pacific, and many more. 

  • What fleet management companies are you able to work with?

    We are set up to electronically submit maintenance and repair requests to several vendors including: Fleetio, Merchants Fleet, General Services Administration (GSA), Enterprise Fleet Management, Element Fleet Management Corporation, Holman, Crossroads and several others.
